Oscar | Newborn

If you are after newborn photos that are simple, real and balanced carefully with a little bit of posing, then Bless Photography is the perfect fit for you. We offer a perfect balance between posed and natural newborn photography. The most important priority to us is that we capture every detail that makes your baby who they are. We love to use a selection of props and cute little hats, but most importantly, we love to capture your little person interacting as naturally as possible.

Oscar was much older than the typical age for a newborn session – He was 9 weeks old. If you missed out on doing a shoot within the first couple of weeks, you can definitely still do one. This particular session was more of a lifestyle family shoot. Most of the pictures taken were of Oscar, but the overall style of this shoot was like a lifestyle family session and less attention was paid to cleaning up the typical blemishes that babies tend to have (hence the reason newborn sessions are much more expensive.) If you are interested in a lifestyle baby shoot, please contact us.

Sergeants Mess | Chowder Bay, Mosman | Wedding | Annika & Tristan

Annika and Tristan had an elegant waterside wedding at Sergeants Mess in Chowder Bay, Mosman. It was simple, yet stylish with a soft, neutral palette and some well crafted DIY.

Their wedding was a longtime coming – the pair began dating over a decade ago when they were teenagers when MSN Messenger was a thing. Tristan pursued Annika via Messenger after meeting through friends. A very giddy Annika didn’t need too much convincing and they quickly became two peas in a pod.

For them is was all about celebrating the day with their family and friends. They wanted an outdoor ceremony with an evening reception where they could dance long into the night. The Mosman coastline offered a perfect view for both!

It was a perfect day, even more perfect than the bride and groom had hoped for!

Annika and Tristan’s wedding was featured on The Wedding Playbook. You can view this here.

Coogee Surf Life Saving Club | Coogee | Wedding | Shady & Dave

It was such a beautiful privilege to take part in Shady and Dave’s once in a lifetime wedding celebration. What made their day so unique was that most of their guests were flying in from the other side of the world as Shadiyah is originally from Texas and Dave from Canada.

The pair met whilst teaching in Malaysia and they now live together in the eastern suburbs of Sydney in Coogee. They have completely fallen in love with Australian life, hence the reason they decided to have their wedding locally at the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club. This was the perfect choice for them as they love the beach, playing beach volley ball, snorkelling and living a very fun and active lifestyle.

Their boho/vintage wedding was bright and fun. It had a chilled out, beachy vibe and unique elements including their doughnut cake tower and their very original guest book – which was the 100 Year Commemoration Book of the Coogee Surf Club. Shady and Dave based the whole day on their favourite saying – “You’re my favourite.” This brought them together when they were just friends when they both knew that they would be so much more. This sentiment echoed throughout the day on the bunting, cake topper, bonbonierre and was even engraved on their wedding bands.

The day was filled with so much love and the party went long into the night. It really was a once in a lifetime celebration shared with family and friends from all around the globe and a wonderful introduction to their new hometown, Coogee.

This beautiful celebration was featured on Chic Vintage Brides. You can view it here.

Bless Photography | 2016 Year in Review

2016…What a year it has been! Our biggest yet for sure. We shot a total of 34 weddings, roughly the same amount of newborn sessions, an engagement shoot for most of our couples plus the occasional family session here and there. Our photography has taken us as far as Darwin in the NT, Byron Bay and the Hunter Valley! We’ve shot in beautiful locations not too far from home in the Blue Mountains, Sydney and the Southern Highlands. We had our first features on White Magazine and Chic Vintage Brides. We’ve also been featured on Wedshed and The Wedding Playbook (just to name a couple) and we have some exciting new features coming. We are also Darwin bound yet again in 2017!

We are constantly meeting and working with fabulous and talented wedding vendors – The people in charge of all the bits and pieces that make weddings so personal and breathtakingly beautiful.

We are so incredibly blessed to have such beautiful couples and families that invite us into their worlds and trust us to capture their special moments. Your cherished memories bring us so much joy to capture. We can’t thank you enough. And we are so incredibly grateful for all the love and support from our current, past and future clients, our families, friends and our followers on social media. Your love and encouragement means so much!

It was fun to reflect on this year. I take memories with me from every shoot that I do. It made me smile looking back. Please enjoy some of our favourite wedding images as you wrap up 2016. Have a safe and very Happy New Year and keep an eye out for us….2017 is going to be another BIG one!

Tay + Matt xoxo

Bicentennial Park | Homebush | Engagement | Lisa & Fel

Sometimes I have moments that blow me away. I often capture special memories for current friends, old friends and acquaintances and when I do, I always question – What are the odds? I think about my life – where I’ve been and who I have met and it blows me away that my destiny was to become a photographer and that I would one day reconnect with with familiar faces throughout my life and be given the responsibility to capture their weddings. It is such an honour and a blessing.

The reason for this little ramble is that lovely Lisa went to my high school. I was in the same grade as her older brother.  Once again, I am reunited with people from my past and it is so amazing!

Lisa and Fel’s love story began when they met at work. A friendship grew into something much more and now the two are preparing to tie the knot.

We captured some memories of their engagement at Bicentennial Park in Homebush Bay. It is always so lovely to meet up with my couples again before their big day to have a chat, a laugh or two and to get in some practice! To be honest, there is not a lot of practice required, as our approach is so natural. It’s more to give my couples a feel for being photographed by me, so that they can relax and be themselves!

Lisa and Fel are getting married this Spring and I can’t wait to capture their big day.

Clifton Gardens | Mosman | Engagement | Annika & Tristan

Annika and Tristan used their engagement session as an opportunity to scout the areas around their wedding venue – Sergeants Mess. We captured some memories before their wedding on a lovely sunny day beside the water at Mosman.

This lovely couple have been together for over ten years. Tristan was the “Foot Locker” guy who started chatting to Annika on MSN Messenger – remember those days? Well, a relationship blossomed during their giddy teens that stuck throughout the years and now the two are taking the next step and starting a new chapter as husband and wife.

I had such a great time chatting and laughing with these two! They are gorgeous pair indeed. And Clifton Gardens was the perfect spot to take some pretty pictures!

Cabbage Tree Lookout | Grose Vale | Engagement | Kristina & Josh

Kristina and Josh have been together since their teens. Today, that would mean they have been together for 13 years! Having grown up in the same area, Josh had his eye on Kristina for quite some time. They both worked at their local village centre – Kristina at the hair salon and Josh at the pizza place. Josh’s dad actually worked with Kristina’s mum and after playing a little bit of match maker, the pair were introduced, Josh later asked Kristina out and the rest is history.

Their engagement was a long time coming! They have already bought their first property together and have adopted a Kelpie into their family. So as you can imagine, Kristina had been eagerly awaiting Josh to ask for her hand for quite some time. It finally happened when they set off on a road trip around Australia. Josh had the perfect spot in mind which just so happened to be at the most northern tip of Australia in Cape York!

Kristina and Josh are committing their lives to each other at a ceremony on Josh’s parents property. It will be a gorgeous, rustic affair and a massive anticipated celebration as they finally say “I do.”

We captured some memories of their engagement on a gorgeous, sun drenched afternoon at Cabbage Tree Lookout. Of course, their dog Woodi, had to make a little appearance too! These two lovebirds looked so good in our gorgeous Australian outback!
